From February 10th through 12th, the Squash and Education Alliance hosted the 19th iteration of its Team Nationals tournament. For the 2nd year in a row, SEA Teams took place at the Arlen Spectre Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Urban Squash Cleveland sent two teams to compete at Teams this year: A High School Girls team and a High School Boys team.
The 10 students that comprised these teams, cheered on by Coach Duncan and Program Director Briana, had an encouraging weekend of competition! The Girls team had a strong weekend, finishing in 2nd place in their division. This was a great result, but even more impressive is that they achieved this finish as a team with both high school and middle school players! The High School Boys team, which also consisted of a few strong middle school players, had a good weekend as well: they won 2 of their matches and finished in 7th place!
While the USC Student-Athletes had their hard work pay off on the court, they were also able to have some fun off it! The USC Team explored all that Philly had to offer, checking out the famous Rocky Steps, Drexel University, and a variety of local eats. We are grateful to everyone at SEA for putting this tournament together, and for all the other SEA teams in attendance who made the experience so much fun. Weβre already looking forward to Individual Nationals this summer!!
