Program Overview

Academic Support

USC Team Members spend half of their programming time in our classroom space. Academic and programming staff engage students in homework help, literacy development, ACT & SAT tutoring, and college support. Ultimately, USC aims to help each of student pursue personally meaningful post-secondary opportunities.

Squash

When not in the classroom, USC Team Members are on the squash courts. With regular squash practice and competitions, USC student-athletes develop healthy habits, endurance, coordination, physical and mental awareness, hard-work and discipline. Beyond these benefits, squash serves as wonderful vehicle that connects our team with meaningful opportunities in the Cleveland community and beyond.

Enrichment

The Cleveland community is integral to USC’s success. We strive to expose our Team Members to the the best their city has to offer. Close to home, USC student-athletes participate in community service projects, field trips, internships and partnership programs including Squash Health and Squash the Stress. The USC team also hits the road for colleges visits, squash tournaments, camps and other enrichment opportunities.

Cleveland and Beyond

During our 6 days of programming each week, team members:

  • Attend squash and academic sessions three times per week
  • Participate in community service activities
  • Travel to different cities and universities
  • Play in local and national squash tournaments
  • Attend summer camp and gain internships
  • Work closely with volunteers and mentors as they prepare for personally meaningful post-secondary opportunities

High school graduation does not end our team members’ involvement with USC! As alums, our student-athletes:

  • Receive dedicated and ongoing mentoring
  • Remain active members in our community, acting as mentors to younger team members
