Jean came on as USC’s third Executive Director in September 2023. Jean has previous experience with programs for urban youth that build character and life skills, for she was the founder and director of Grassroots Tennis in New Haven, CT. On the whole, Jean’s career has focused on empowering youth, with experiences ranging from a Guardian ad Litem in Cuyahoga County’s Juvenile Court, high school girls’ tennis coach, executive director of Summer on the Cuyahoga, and founder of a group mentoring program for middle school students at Urban Community School. Jean is a Connecticut native and a graduate of Harvard University and the University of CT School of Law. She has played squash since high school and previously worked with USC as an on-court volunteer.

Ray plays an integral role in our youth development program, not only honing the squash and fitness skills of our student-athletes, but also fostering their social and emotional growth through the process. He will also lead our Cleveland Community Squash program, which has more than 80 active members and offers a plethora of squash activities. Ray is a Level 3 Certified Squash Coach who has 35 years of coaching experience, coaching in his native Guyana, Canada and the USA. He has coached at all levels: grassroots, middle school, high school, collegiate and international. During his most recent role as Head Squash Professional at the Vicmead Hunt Club in Wilmington Delaware, Ray graduated 14 players to various college squash varsity programs across the USA, including three All-Americans. Ray was also a founding director of First State Squash, Wilmington’s SEA program. He is currently the Senior National Coach for Guyana quash, the defending four-time Caribbean Champions. He has led them to two Commonwealth Games, three Pan-Am Games and multiple Pan-American Championships during his 12 years as coach.

Joseph joined USC in the Fall of 2024, and oversees both USC’s academic and squash programming, while also building external partnerships with schools and other local non-profits. He also leads USC’s post-secondary programming. A two-time graduate of the University of Akron, Joseph earned both a Bachelor of Science & Education in Sports Studies and a Master of Public Administration. He was also a college athlete for the Zips, competing as a sprinter for the Track and Field team. Most recently, Joseph was the Director of Programs at fellow SEA program, the Cincinnati Squash Academy. Prior to CSA, Joseph was the Director of the Broadway Club, the largest standalone club of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio. Joseph previously worked with USC as a Trustee and member of both the Youth Programming, and Governance Committees.

Erica oversees all academic and enrichment programming. Erica has been with USC since October of 2024. In previous roles, Erica has prioritized youth and community development, including while serving as Dean of Students and alumna of The Aspire Program and in various roles in the food and beverage industry. Erica also works as a Culinary Instructor for The Cutting Board Academy, a Cleveland-based non-profit that is dedicated to educating families and communities on the importance of healthy eating through Food Literacy and Nutrition Education. Combining her love of crafting and baking with community and conversation, Erica also created The Edible Art Experience. She is a Cleveland native and holds a Bachelor of Science in Human and Consumer Sciences from Ohio University.
